Metro, Metro read all about it!
We think our heading says it all; April 21st will be one date to be remembered, as our journey continues to connect this City, helping make it a friendlier, more local place to be.

Today after all the madness we get time to write about what was written about us in the Metro. This was a major milestone for our company, we are all overwhelmed to be featured in one of the most read papers in the UK! It’s a feeling of great excitement and achievement for our very young and ambitious start up.

We had a Q&A session in the section ‘Behind the Idea' this section is for “Pioneering people and their ideas in creative industries”. Our idea seems to have fit the brief. There is so much meaning behind our start up, it’s not just a tote bag with a few languages scattered around it. It’s a powerful social tool that’s connecting a City in the most natural way. So much thought went into this what seems like a simple but very effective idea. Chatter Bags has proven to be the perfect visual ice breaker and that’s where our slogan comes from ‘made to make conversation’.

We launched in December to a saturated market, with many apps and groups trying to get people connected in some way, shape or form. We had to stand out, we had to be different, we had to make something to get you noticed without feeling pressured and it seems to work. We’ve had a steady flow of brand recognition, the feedback has been so positive full of excitement and satisfaction with the results the bag gives. We have two pop up stores and our own online store where our bags can be purchased.

Since the Metro came out the phone has been hopping, emails gathering and so many kind words have been spoken. We want to keep this feel good streak going, we have all the tools we just need you to join our unique concept and be a part of the Chatter Bags family. We’re a very honest and pure company with a mission; our mission statement is, “Using London as our platform and the World as our stage our mission is to get you all engaged”.

Before we sign off we have to say a special thank you to Sophie Robinson and Melanie McKinlay from the Metro for making this happen. You will be surprised the difference this is making to the City. You should be very proud.

Watch out for more interviews and articles coming soon.

Keep the conversation flowing!

Big Love,

Say hi to the new guy!

17 April 2015
Say hi to the new guy!
After weeks and weeks of begging we finally allowed Thomas to work with us!

Only joking!

It’s our pleasure to introduce you to Thomas Zareba, who will take on the role as Managing Director. Thomas will focus on the operations of Chatter Bags. Thomas is no stranger to London and it’s demands. He successfully set up WSWorkshop with his brothers 5 years ago; their brand is a force to be respected on the IT scene in the UK. Thomas works daily with some of the most famous brands taking care of their web solutions.

Having worked with Thomas in the past, we created an incredibly advanced reservations system from scratch which was an amazing learning process for both of us, full of tears and tantrums (from Thomas) but it all worked out brilliantly in the end!  We’ve always had like-minded ideas with the same goal: to make life that little bit easier for you. We are inspired by the City and the day to day running of it. Thomas’s other life loves, excluding his amazing girlfriend and work, is climbing, hence the random choice of  picture!

Thomas will jump into his role pretty quick with ideas for a new site already on the cards, improving the user experience and making the navigation around our site memorable. He shares the same love for the City, when he heard we were looking for someone to join our team he said he is the best man for the job,  we couldn’t agree more.

All that’s left to say is, keep your eyes peeled for all the weird and wonderful things we get up to on our quest to make this City a friendlier, happier,  more local place to be. There’s no stopping us now, using London as our platform and the World as our stage we promise to do our best to get you all engaged! You know what we mean!!

Updating you all soon, keep the conversation flowing.

Ciao for now!

Mark & the amazing Chatter Bags Team

Happy Easter
Happy Easter to you all.

Firstly thank you for your continued support, we love you guys!

We've had a crazy few weeks with so many exciting things happening. London's new social tool is really starting to get noticed in the city. The conversation is flowing and it's all because of you 'saying hi your way' .

April should be an awesome month for the brand, we are meeting with even more amazing businesses to show how versatile our conversational tool is. We have one or two new announcements to make so watch this space...

The feel good factor our new start up has is making a difference to this city. Now you know by looking at someone what language they speak without hearing them or the language they are not speaking you can see as it's written all over the bag. It's the perfect Ice breaker. Our mission to help make London a friendlier city is working, the more people that know about us the friendlier it will be. Keep it going :)

Well for now we are singing off and going to chat about all things Easter and chocolate with friends, family, loved ones and whoever else wants to have an old fashioned chat.

Speak to you all in the middle of the month with all the latest gossip.

Have a fantastic, safe and chatty Easter!

Bringing the conversation to a world famous market

Bringing the conversation to a world famous market
Two months in and we are really getting around this amazing city. From newspaper interviews to meeting people from a famous design house, attending events and chatting to one of the country’s most loved stores, all topped off with a thumbs up from The Mayor himself ‘Boris’. London’s new social tool has proven to be a hit with the locals, the tourists and the students.

We’ve been shown so much love these last few weeks and it’s all thanks to you!

The difference our bag is making in one woman’s words “life changing”. To hear that from our simple idea is so heart warming for us, that was our aim. This visual ice breaker has given people the confidence to start a conversation. The real purpose of this bag is to help make a safer, local London. Our plan is to keep this going and bring the brand around the UK, then get on a plane, boat or hot air balloon to take this global. We’ve been shown so much love these last few weeks and it’s all thanks to you. So much love that we are attending see us at the world famous Camden Market this weekend 28/02-01/03. Come see us, have a chat, tell us your thoughts. We would love to see you there.

The next few weeks are exciting for us, we are looking at a range of different avenues, working with different brands and shouting about it on social media, like us, follow us to keep up to date with our journey. The bag is made for you and it’s made to make conversation. By using one of things we all have in common, language. Looking at someone you don’t know what they speak, now you do! Next step; get chatting, learn something, get to know someone. Given the current climate around the world wouldn’t be great if we all just got along. Spread the word, share the love and grab a bag.

Before we go, if you are at Camden market this weekend, tell us you read this, we will do a test, if you pass we will give you a discount. :) Oh what the hell, we’ll give you a discount anyway just come say hi and ask us!

Loving you, you and you!

Do I have to love you more today?

13 February 2015
Do I have to love you more today?
Love it or loathe it, Valentines is here …

You know we get it, another day on the calender for retailers to up the prices and take total advantage of all things love. A day that will generate billions all over the world, a day that makes your bum cheeks clinch together it’s so expensive.

The day if you’re a Restaurateur, you pray for the 14th to be mid-week so you can take a full advantage of both weekends either side and the day you question your position in the culinary scene depending on how many covers you are doing.

Supermarkets were even kind enough to latch on to this day to give us ready meals for two with some fizz, how nice! And don’t get us started on the annoying card adverts on TV where you can even personalise a teabag for you both. It’s one big money-making day that most of us fall victim to.

Personally we think why should it be this day we need to show someone we love them, and not the other 364 days in the year. Well we say all that and then we got to know a little about where it came from.

Do you actually know how the day started ?
From doing a little bit of research this is what we came up with, there are some uncertain facts and plenty of religious views here’s what we made of it …

The popular belief about St Valentine is that he was a priest from Rome in the third century AD.

Emperor Claudius II had banned marriage because he thought married men were bad soldiers. Valentine felt this was unfair, so he broke the rules and arranged marriages in secret.

When Claudius found out, Valentine was thrown in jail and sentenced to death.

There, he fell in love with the jailer’s daughter and when he was taken to be killed on 14 February he sent her a love letter signed “from your Valentine”.

That’s as simple as we could make it and the outcome of the story is beautiful. Each relationship is unique and we wouldn’t have it any other way. Our advice is make what you want of the day, whether it be a walk in Regents park or a sixteen course meal for two as long as there is meaning and feeling in what you do and finish each day by saying “I Love You”.

Of course we can’t sign off without a mention to those who are yet to find ‘the one’ our bag is a proven conversation starter. What have you got to lose ?

Have a fantastic weekend whatever you do!
