London to Zurich to Charity Dinners

30 June 2016
London to Zurich to Charity Dinners
Let’s go…

June is here, we’re ready for bbq season and lots of social events. We love it!

The team have been busy chatting all over the city and up and down the country.  We’re truly excited with the progress our social too is making. The positive impact it has made in such a short time gives us even more drive to develop this concept, and grow it to really make a difference for generations to come.

School trips are ongoing this month and we are very proud to be working with some of you, and look forward to working with many more. Schools and universities are important to us, for this reason. You are already building a pathway to the big busy world out there, being able to communicate outside your comfort zone can be sometimes daunting. So many people are similar, it’s normal. Nowadays with technology being so advance, we sometimes forget how simple and fun face to face contact can be.

We have something so simple which can have life changing results from new best friends to globetrotting buddies to workmates to future partners, The options are endless and we help make all that happen without tapping apps.

We love the people coming to our pop up store just off Brick Lane, bringing their friends and chatting to us about experiences using Chatter Bags. Some stories are wonderful from meeting people in the city and on holiday to language learning to just getting noticed, it’s awesome. Keep them coming and your pictures too!

Speaking about trips earlier, some of our chatty bunch went on a trip to Zurich promoting the brand. It was a great success both from the language concept and the increasingly popular event concepts, some of us practiced our German others got down to the nitty gritty! All round super, we look forward to see what happens in the near future.

And last but not least our founder was lucky enough to attend the Tim Henman Foundation gala at Wimbledon. Getting the chance to mix with some famous and inspirational folks with incredible stories. Mark’s motivation is about helping to create social change by building a bigger, brighter, better future for all, and bringing us closer together. He came back to our office even more upbeat about the event and the impact it has on peoples’ lives. We must mention he got a cheeky picture with the Davis cup too!

Next month we will be talking Events, holidays and Thomas’s ambitious bike ride. Oh, and Brexit!

Until then,

Keep chatting!

Big Love,

Chatter Bags Team x

A new Mayor, a new Month.

30 May 2016
A new Mayor, a new Month.
A new Mayor, a new Month.

May threw everything at us, from events to pop ups and meetings all over the city. The month of May also gave us a new Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan. Our new Mayor seems to be singing off the same hymn sheet when it comes to topics on social integration and social change which we’ve been working hard on since our launch last year with a very positive impact. We look forward to watching the mayors’ progress and working with him to make this awesome city a more social place to be.

This is a subject close to our hearts and the main reason why Chatter Bags exits today. We sometimes need to take a step back and see what’s really going on around us. This mega city has over 250 spoken languages at one time. It’s definitely right up there when it comes to being one of the most diverse cities globally, it’s also the most visited city in the world. People here come from all over the globe to holiday, live, work, get educated and even find love. This fast paced multicultural city is like no other. It’s bursting at the seams with energy, culture and communities. We need to embrace this.

London is made up of little villages, that’s what makes each street corner and borough different, we love it. We think you could eat in a different restaurant every night for the next twenty years and still not have eaten in them all. Cuisines that we’ve never even heard of are available on our door step, made by people just like you and I.

In an age where the market is saturated in digital devices, we really feel it's time to take our head out of the screens and stop swiping our way through life. It’s time to look up, have a bit of a digital detox. Let’s see the world and it’s wonderful people around us. This is why we made this award winning concept.

Our concept encourages you to ‘say hi your way’ and feel like a local wherever you are.  We’re breaking that barrier that’s holding us back when it comes to good old fashioned conversation, even if it’s just a little hello.  We read horror stories in the news that leave us feeling us uneasy, sometimes we feel less educated about a subject.Let's change this. Your city has so much to offer and the people in it make it so unique. This is a time when we need to stick together, unite as one and create a better future for us and the next generation to come.

Until next time.

The prank is on us...

29 April 2016
The prank is on us...
The prank is on us…

Our April update starts off with the usual pranks at the start of the month. This year it was our turn to get a spoof call asking the most random questions regarding our concept and its limits! It made for a very confusing April fools' day hahah. Thank goodness it’s only once a year!!!

It’s an exciting time for Chatter Bags. Our Concepts page seems to be going down a treat, feedback is awesome and this powerful social tool is doing exactly what it says on the tin. We love the fact; we start the conversation, you finish it. Job done, yes it’s that simple! Find out more here

We attended a very interesting meeting at the O2 with Visit Greenwich and SE London Enterprise. There’s so much happing down in this historic part of the city and we look forward to being a part of it.

Up up and away, well for about 40 minutes. Some of the team took the short trip over to the Netherlands for meetings. Its major cities bustling with people from all over the world and equally the universities here see a large number of visitors from the continent and overseas call this wonderful place home for now. Many of our bags have been sent and photographed around the counrty, the potential is very exciting and the demand to integrate people and communities is here also too. Watch this space.

Our now permanent pop up store has seen an increase in demand, the word is spreading. Keep the conversation flowing! This offline way to meet new people and feel like a local has Brick Lane and the surrounding areas chatting.

Your messages on twitter are always such a joy to read. We are happy we are helping to create social change with a positive impact. This is just the start, it’s people like you who want to see that change & make it happen, we just make it that little bit easier for you. Keep sending your pics and tweets we love them all.

As Rhianna would say; it’s time to “work, work, work!

Until next time,

Peace, love and chattiness!

Big Love,

March madness

31 March 2016
March madness
It’s been a pretty mad month!

We love this time of year!  Spring is in the air, the evenings are getting brighter for longer and the social scene is hotting up. We all tend to come out of hibernation and the mood is electric!

So electric some of our team chanced their arm at The St Patrick’s day festival, Trafalgar Square, by doing their rendition of a Riverdance (we’re trying to get hold of the video) watch this space! It’s the day the whole world becomes Irish for the day, hailed as the friendliest day of the year and we couldn’t agree more. It would be great if we could make it a quarterly thing!!!

Let’s not forget International Women’s Day, it gets bigger and better each year, we think it’s proving to be a very important day on the events calendar. We sent out messages of appreciation and thanks to our followers and friends around the world. We love all the wonderful ladies in our life, especially the lovely Katie. Thank you for all you do!

We had some lovely snaps sent to us of people on holidays using our social tool chatting with people from all around the globe. It gives us great pleasure to know we are helping make a difference by connecting people. Check out our twitter to see more.

The Language show Glasgow was here and gone. We received some awesome feedback from our users how they in particular stood out from the crowd and got noticed our way. You too can #sayhiyourway with us.

With all the shenanigans going on we nearly forgot to talk about ‘Our Concepts’.

Chatter Bags is not only used for Schools, Universities and the tourism industry, we are also known for our Events! Yes Events! Our unique way to start a conversation works wonders for your event. No fancy gadgets, just good old fashioned face to face chat, crucial for your business needs. Our tag line ‘Let’s talk about…’ is printed on our bags with relevant topics to suit your company.  It allows you/your customer get the most from the event. We say: “Tick what you want to talk about, talk about what you tick.” It’s that simple! All bags are bespoke with colour if needed and tailored to your event. Have a chat with one of our team and see how our concept will work for you.

Enough business talk! Chocolate, so much chocolate everywhere sometimes you forget the real meaning of Easter! We’re not complaining, we love chocolate and we love that Easter brings people together.  The city has so much going on, our friends at Time Out have loads of info to keep you busy and up to date.

Well that’s March wrapped for us, before we go we cannot leave without mentioning the people of Belgium and all the other countries caught up with ongoing troubles. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all x

Thank you all for your continued support, our mission is to help make your city a happier, safer more social place to be. Together we can do this!

Until next time,

Peace, love and happiness.

"Loved up"

25 February 2016
"Loved up"
We’ll get back to all that lovey-dovey stuff a bit later!

It’s was a pretty good start to the New Year, right?

We were up to our usual tricks getting people from all around the globe talking the old fashioned way.

Half term madness flew by, we had a day out in tourist hotspot Greenwich Park chatting to locals and people from near and far promoting our way to say “hey”.  The feedback was cracking and it’s always great to build awareness face to face, you can grasp the real feelings from individuals about your products and act on the comments given.

February has been fantastic so far, we had an awesome interview with the wonderful Lucy Purdy from People of London and attended events all over the city. Last night’s event; Power 100 was very informative regarding the future for start-ups and scale-ups. It was a real pleasure to be invited, we got to meet some old friends and made some new ones.

Our permanent pop up at The Vintage Bean has seen an increase in demand for our social tool which is super exciting! On the topic of cafes; we had lovely coffee, cake & chats with one of our loyal supporters Delia Cazzato from Pinner which was such a treat.

“Loved up”, that’s all we can say about Valentine’s Day, it was wonderful this year knowing that we brought people together. Long may it continue, our offline approach is taking things back to how it use to be, it feels good! We would love to hear your stories if we brought you love birds together! Write to us .

The team and I are working hard on our new concepts and designs which will launch very soon. Exciting! We are opening the brand up to a number of different sectors. Chatter Bags is a versatile conversational tool, we can’t wait to show you the finished products.

That’s you guys kept up to date. The next time we chat we’ll all be painting the town green for Paddy’s Day.

Remember, keep the conversation flowing!

Big Love x
